ScaleMatrix shared that it is planning to bring its high density colocation cabinet design to market. It will specifically target other data center operators and infrastructure service providers as a way to broaden its addressable market. ScaleMatrix has developed a unique method of deploying high density colocation environments (which we have seen firsthand from touring its San Diego facility) with a closed and individually cooled cabinet. The design allows for compute environments to draw large quantities of power, while the in-cabinet cooling allows for the gear to be adequately cooled. This is a growing need for power-intensive verticals such as HPC, big data/analytics, and biotech – not coincidentally, verticals that ScaleMatrix is driving its growth from.
